SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 45
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Jim Bob Hill
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Del Rio in mourning the loss of Jim Bob Hill, who died
  on January 4, 2013, at the age of 58; and
         WHEREAS, Born June 14, 1954, to Jack and Rosamond Hill, he
  was a lifelong resident of Del Rio, a city that he loved and to
  which he devoted much civic energy; and
         WHEREAS, Jim Bob Hill was a proud alumnus of Del Rio High
  School; he married his high school sweetheart, Mary, upon
  graduation in 1972, and the couple had three sons, whom Mr. Hill
  delighted in teaching the nuances of baseball and the finer
  points of fishing and hunting; and
         WHEREAS, He also was an unfailing mentor to young athletes
  in the community, and he shared his appreciation for
  sportsmanship with area youth through his roles as a Little
  League baseball coach and a football referee; and
         WHEREAS, An adventurous man who liked to travel, Mr. Hill
  frequently paired his journeys with his passion for sports,
  particularly baseball; his friends recall his tales, recounted
  with relish, of playing hardball in Mexico; and
         WHEREAS, This civic leader was equally admired for his eye
  for design and construction; he helped expand his father's
  business, Jack Hill Construction Company, and he left a lasting
  mark on the area by building exemplary commercial structures such
  as banks and fire stations; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Hill will be widely remembered for his
  generosity and kindness of spirit; he frequently took the time to
  help others, often delivering that aid with a smile and a ready
  laugh; he lived his life with honor and faith and was a devoted
  husband, father, and grandfather; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Jim Bob Hill; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
