| WHEREAS, February 15, 2017, marked the 70th wedding | ||
| anniversary of Franklin and Marjorie Willis of Mineola, and this | ||
| joyous event provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their | ||
| rewarding journey together as husband and wife; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Franklin Willis Jr. and the former Marjorie | ||
| Boozer were joined in matrimony in 1947; over the years, they | ||
| have been blessed with a treasured family that includes their | ||
| children, Linda Tileston, Debbie Wickert, Harold Willis, and | ||
| Cindy Nelson, as well as 8 grandchildren and 14 | ||
| great-grandchildren; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Willis | ||
| is retired from the Texas Highway Department and Mrs. Willis was | ||
| employed with the Mineola Veterinary Clinic and a local dental | ||
| office; they are valued congregants of Hainesville Baptist | ||
| Church; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The seven decades of marriage that Mr. and | ||
| Mrs. Willis have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of | ||
| love and commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration | ||
| to all who know them; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, hereby congratulate Franklin and Marjorie Willis on | ||
| their 70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best | ||
| wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| the couple as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. | ||
