| WHEREAS, When they married on June 8, 1963, Joyce and Eric | ||
| Edge made a lifetime commitment to each other, and their mutual | ||
| trust has been amply rewarded, for they recently celebrated their | ||
| 50th wedding anniversary; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Joyce and Eric were married at Lakewood Heights | ||
| Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia; after Eric graduated from the | ||
| Georgia Institute of Technology, his career with Shell Oil | ||
| Company took them to New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and | ||
| later to Houston, where they lived for 33 years before moving to | ||
| Woodland Park in Georgetown in June of 2006; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Edge is now a Shell Oil Company retiree, and | ||
| Mrs. Edge is retired from the Social Security Administration; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Edge have been blessed with a | ||
| wonderful family; they are beloved and respected by their son, | ||
| Eric Edge, Jr., and their daughter, Holly Edge-Booth, and they | ||
| take great joy in their granddaughter, Madison Booth; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown closer in their | ||
| love and devotion, and their long and happy union is truly an | ||
| inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
| Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend congratulations | ||
| to Mr. and Mrs. Eric Edge on their 50th wedding anniversary; and, | ||
| be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in | ||
| their lives. | ||
