	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 428
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize the City of Fate; and

	WHEREAS, The fastest-growing city in the state, Fate has
	increased its population from fewer than 500 residents in 2000 to
	more than 6,300 in a decade; it offers proximity to the amenities
	of a big city, but with all the charm and benefits of small-town
	life; and

	WHEREAS, The city has improved its infrastructure to meet
	the challenges of today's complex world; water meters have been
	upgraded for wireless reading, and the construction of a new fire
	station marks the first new facility built by the city in more
	than 50 years; and

	WHEREAS, The citizens of Fate have created an exemplary
	community in which to live, work, and raise a family; it is truly
	fitting that their hometown be recognized for its progress as it
	grows and improves to meet the challenges of tomorrow; now,
	therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
	Legislature, hereby commend the civic leaders and residents of
	the City of Fate for their foresight and their commitment to
	creating a livable community and extend to them best wishes for
	continued success; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	the city as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
