SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 425
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Jeff Pilchiek for 30 years of exemplary service in the
field of public education; and
WHEREAS, Jeff Pilchiek has served as a teacher and as a
certified public school counselor in communities across the
state, and he has helped countless students navigate the college
admission process; most recently, he served as director of
Guidance for the Eanes Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Pilchiek has visited college campuses across
the country in order to gain a personal perspective on the
institutions' programs and environment so that he could better
guide his students to the college that best suited their needs;
in recognition of his expertise, many colleges have invited him
to serve on their counselor advisory boards, including the
University of Chicago and Texas Tech University; and
WHEREAS, A longtime leader in his profession, Mr. Pilchiek
has served as president of the Texas Association for College
Admission Counseling, as a committee member for the National
Association for College Admission Counseling, and as a member of
the ApplyTexas Committee for the Texas Higher Education
Coordinating Board; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary educator and counselor, Mr. Pilchiek
has had a positive influence on the lives of innumerable young
people, and he is truly deserving of special recognition for his
dedication and expertise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend Jeff Pilchiek on 30 years of
outstanding service as a public school counselor and a leader in
the field of education and extend to him best wishes for
continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
