| Lynda Arnold | ||
| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and | ||
| commemorates the life of Lynda Arnold, who died January 5, 2017, | ||
| at the age of 78; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Lynda Arnold was a well-known North Texas citizen | ||
| who was respected in her community for her many achievements; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Born July 7, 1938, she was affectionately known as | ||
| "Texas Lil"; she was the former owner of Texas Lil's Dude Ranch, | ||
| which was once a successful ranching enterprise and a popular | ||
| tourist destination in Northlake; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She was a believer in public service and was a | ||
| former mayor of Northlake and a former Denton County justice of | ||
| the peace; throughout her life, she was noted for her Texas | ||
| attire and her warm personality; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Texas Lil was a woman of courage, kindness, and | ||
| compassion who gave unselfishly to others, and her | ||
| larger-than-life personality, her strength in the face of | ||
| adversity, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest | ||
| will not be forgotten by her family and countless friends; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She was devoted to her family, and she leaves | ||
| behind memories that will be treasured forever by those who were | ||
| privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
| family of Lynda Arnold: her son, Trace Arnold; and her daughter, | ||
| Dana Arnold; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
| Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
| memory of Lynda Arnold. | ||
