| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize members of Texas Democratic Women who are gathering at | ||
| the State Capitol on April 15, 2025, to advocate for women and | ||
| their families during Blue Ribbon Lobby Day; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Texas Democratic Women was established in 1987 to | ||
| promote the involvement of women in the political process and to | ||
| assist in the growth of the Democratic Party in Texas; Blue | ||
| Ribbon Lobby Day helps to uphold this mission by bringing | ||
| together like-minded women and political leaders to highlight | ||
| important issues that concern Texas women, including public | ||
| education, health care, and economic security; and | ||
| WHEREAS, During this day of action, Democratic women meet | ||
| with state legislators to discuss the rights women have to equal | ||
| opportunities and equal protections under the law and to affirm | ||
| the integral role women play in the economic prosperity of this | ||
| state; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Blue Ribbon Lobby Day presents an opportunity to | ||
| call attention to the concerns of Texas women and their families | ||
| and to work to affect positive change in the Lone Star State; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend the members of Texas Democratic Women | ||
| and extend to the visiting women and advocates best wishes for a | ||
| rewarding Blue Ribbon Lobby Day at the Capitol; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| the organization in honor of this special occasion. | ||
