	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 407
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize the McAllen High School Mariachi Oro band, which
	recently won the Class 6A mariachi state championship title; and

	WHEREAS, The members of Mariachi Oro brought home their
	second championship title at their second state finals
	appearance, taking first place among the 12 ensembles in their
	category at the Southwest Performing Arts Center in San Antonio;
	and

	WHEREAS, These young musicians have demonstrated great
	talent and perseverance throughout the school year, and band
	members can take great pride in their outstanding performance; and

	WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of
	their director and instructor, Alex Treviño, the members of
	Mariachi Oro have developed exceptional musicianship, teamwork,
	and discipline; and

	WHEREAS, McAllen High School and the City of McAllen are
	proud of Mariachi Oro members for their hard work, their
	impressive skills, and their enthusiasm and spirit; now,
	therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
	Legislature, hereby commend the members of the McAllen High
	School Mariachi Oro band for their hard work and dedication and
	congratulate them on winning the Class 6A mariachi state
	championship; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	the band as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
