SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 405
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Theodore Roosevelt IV, who is the featured speaker at a
  dinner supporting the Lake Wichita Revitalization Project on
  March 16, 2017; and
         WHEREAS, Theodore Roosevelt IV is a renowned conservationist,
  an internationally recognized banker, and a United States Navy Seal
  veteran of the Vietnam War; he is the great-grandson of President
  Theodore Roosevelt, who played a leading role in launching the
  country's conservationist movement; by establishing parks and
  reserves, the president conserved nearly 230 million acres of land,
  thus preserving the nation's natural resources for the enjoyment
  and benefit of future generations; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Roosevelt is a graduate of the Harvard
  Business School and a managing director at Barclays in New York
  City; he serves as chair of the Center for Climate and Energy
  Solutions, is a member of the Governing Council of the Wilderness
  Society, and is a trustee of the American Museum of Natural
  History; and
         WHEREAS, The Lake Wichita Revitalization Project was
  created to address the significant ecological issues affecting
  Lake Wichita, which has surpassed its expected 100-year life
  span; this grassroots conservation organization can serve as a
  valuable example to conservation and reservoir rehabilitation
  efforts across the nation; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Roosevelt has been an exemplary steward of his
  family's storied conservationist legacy, and it is truly fitting
  that he receive special recognition for his outstanding work on
  behalf of our country; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby commend Theodore Roosevelt IV on his
  commitment to protecting the nation's priceless natural resources
  and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his
  endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
