| Raymond Phillip Peloubet, Jr. | ||
| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and pays | ||
| tribute to the life of Raymond Phillip Peloubet, Jr., who died | ||
| February 8, 2013, at the age of 87; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Born on November 18, 1925, Ray Peloubet led an | ||
| illustrious life; he was an accomplished Navy pilot, a celebrated | ||
| inventor, an avid sportsman, and a devoted family man; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Peloubet joined the United States Navy in 1945 | ||
| and served as a pilot; he remained active in the Navy Reserve | ||
| until he retired, as a lieutenant junior grade, in 1967; he was | ||
| also a flight instructor at Louisiana State University, where he | ||
| obtained a bachelor's degree in engineering in 1949; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This dynamic thinker parlayed his early flight | ||
| experience into a remarkable business career; he joined General | ||
| Dynamics in 1954 and became world renowned for his advances in | ||
| structural dynamics; his groundbreaking work on B-58s, F-111s, | ||
| and F-16s earned him an induction into the Lockheed Martin | ||
| Tactical Aircraft Systems Hall of Fame; and | ||
| WHEREAS, | ||
| WHEREAS, | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
| Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
| family of Raymond Phillip Peloubet, Jr.; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
| Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
| memory of Ray Peloubet. | ||
