SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 4
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Oscar Lujan
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with
  the passing of Oscar Ramirez Lujan on June 2, 2023, at the age of
  48; and
         WHEREAS, Oscar Lujan was born in El Paso on May 5, 1975, to
  Zeke and Elpidia Lujan; he graduated from Alpine High School,
  where he excelled as a football, baseball, and track and field
  athlete, and he attended New Mexico Junior College and Ranger
  College on a baseball scholarship; returning to Alpine, he played
  an additional year of baseball for Sul Ross State University; he
  later graduated from Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of a career that spanned nearly
  two decades, Mr. Lujan taught high school English and coached
  football, baseball, track, and powerlifting in the Corpus
  Christi, Victoria, and Cypress areas in Texas as well as in
  Florida; he especially enjoyed coaching football, and he was a
  longtime defensive coordinator on the gridiron; in his leisure
  time, he liked playing golf, slow-pitch softball, and baseball as
  well as fitness training; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Lujan benefited from
  the love and support of his wife, Alana, and he was the devoted
  father of three children, Isela, Mariah, and Milah; friendly
  and outgoing, he was greatly admired for his kindness and
  generosity; and
         WHEREAS, Although Oscar Lujan will be deeply missed, he has
  left his family and friends with a wealth of memories that they
  will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Oscar Ramirez Lujan and extend heartfelt condolences to the
  members of his family:  to his wife, Alana; to his daughters,
  Mariah, Milah, and Isela and her husband, Josh, and their newborn
  daughter, his first grandchild, Ilaia; to his parents, Zeke and
  Elpidia Lujan; to his brothers, Mario, David, Noe, and Lorenzo;
  and to his many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
  this day, it do so in memory of Oscar Lujan.
