| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Encourage, Empower, and Send Ministries on the | ||
| occasion of the organization's annual Fighting For The Family | ||
| Symposium Dinner, which is being held April 7, 2013, at the | ||
| Crowne Plaza Hotel in Houston; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The purpose of the organization, also known as | ||
| E.E.S. Ministries, is to provide encouragement to young girls and | ||
| women, empower them with knowledge for daily living and success, | ||
| and send them back to their respective environments to make a | ||
| positive impact; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Founded in 2002 by Theresa Baker, E.E.S. | ||
| Ministries addresses such issues as sexual abuse, domestic | ||
| violence, drug abuse, and inappropriate relationships by hosting | ||
| a wide variety of conferences, workshops, and other outreach | ||
| activities; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The theme of this year's symposium dinner is | ||
| "Persevering Through Tough Times," and the keynote speaker is | ||
| Pastor Cedric J. Hale; also appearing at the event are well-known | ||
| entertainers and members of the music ministry; and | ||
| WHEREAS, E.E.S. Ministries has had a profound effect on the | ||
| lives of countless young women, and the organization truly | ||
| deserves recognition for hosting its invaluable outreach | ||
| activities and events; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Encourage, Empower, and Send | ||
| Ministries on its exceptional work in the community and extend to | ||
| its members best wishes for a successful Fighting For The Family | ||
| Symposium Dinner; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| this exemplary organization as an expression of esteem from the | ||
| Texas Senate. | ||
