| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Cheryl Groeninger, who is retiring on January 31, 2021, | ||
| from the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts after 20 | ||
| years of outstanding service to the state; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Cheryl began her career in state service as an | ||
| employee of the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental | ||
| Retardation, and she went on to serve as an employee of the Texas | ||
| Health and Human Services Commission; she joined the Office of | ||
| the Comptroller of Public Accounts as the first employee hired to | ||
| serve as support staff for the Centralized Accounting and | ||
| Payroll/Personnel System support help desk, where she served as a | ||
| systems analyst; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, she has been | ||
| responsible for helping to ensure the successful operation of the | ||
| payroll and commitment accounting modules for more than 80 state | ||
| agencies; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Over the course of her service with the | ||
| comptroller's office, she has provided training and mentorship | ||
| to numerous employees, and her commitment to providing excellent | ||
| customer service has set an example for others to follow; and | ||
| WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, she is respected and | ||
| admired by her colleagues, and her presence at the Office of the | ||
| Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Cheryl Groeninger on her | ||
| distinguished service to the people of Texas and extend to her | ||
| best wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
