SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 389
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Christopher George Maloy Gelinas
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Christopher George Maloy Gelinas, who
  died February 18, 2013, at the age of 16; and
         WHEREAS, The death of one so young is felt not only by his
  family, but also by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him;
  his family and friends, in recalling his unique and joyful
  spirit, will continue to keep his memory alive; and
         WHEREAS, Chris was born August 25, 1996, in Corpus Christi,
  and he attended the schools of the Tuloso-Midway Independent
  School District; a competitive and talented athlete, he was an
  enthusiastic basketball player and won numerous medals for his
  achievements in the sport; he would arise early and stay late
  after school to practice and improve his game; and
         WHEREAS, Chris faced the challenges of dealing with
 
 
 
         WHEREAS, He was a devoted and loving son, brother,
  grandson, and nephew, and his generosity, his kindheartedness,
  and his bravery in the face of adversity will continue to inspire
  all those who were privileged to share in his life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  83rd Legislature,
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
  so in memory of Chris Gelinas.
