SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 385
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the annual Good Bull BBQ Cook-Off; and
WHEREAS, This exceptional event takes place on the last
Friday and Saturday in February each year and is hosted by the
nonprofit group Friends of Brazos Valley Heroes; and
WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the International Barbeque Cookers
Association as one of the organization's annual state cook-offs,
the Good Bull BBQ Cook-Off showcases accomplished pit masters
from across the state putting their skills to the test as they
compete for prizes in several different categories; and
WHEREAS, Proceeds from the cook-off benefit the Brazos
Valley Veterans organization, along with fire, police, and
emergency medical services departments in Brazos, Burleson,
Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson, and Washington Counties; and
WHEREAS, Featuring good food and spirited culinary
competition, the Good Bull BBQ Cook-Off is all the more special
for the valuable support it provides local veterans and first
responders; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend the sponsors and organizers of the
Good Bull BBQ Cook-Off and extend to them best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
honor of this special event.
