SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 370
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in
  recognizing Reynaldo "Ray" L. Lopez on the occasion of his
  retirement from the banking industry after a 48-year career; and
         WHEREAS, This Brownsville native has consistently and
  expertly served the banking needs of South Texas and is a trusted
  leader in his community; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Lopez entered the finance sector in the
  mid-1960s and steadily worked his way up through the ranks; he
  was the president of the Brownsville branch of First National
  Bank and a former director and vice chairman of Inter National
  Bank; he remains a consultant for First National Bank in
  Edinburg, which oversees $3.5 billion in assets; and
         WHEREAS, This dynamic civic leader has managed several
  local infrastructure projects; in 1983, he was appointed to the
  Rio Grande Valley Municipal Water Authority by Texas Governor
  Mark White, and as chairman of the Public Utilities Board, he
  worked with the City of Brownsville to upgrade water and
  wastewater facilities; he is currently director and treasurer of
  the San Miguel Electric Cooperative; and
         WHEREAS,
 
 
 
         WHEREAS, A loving husband and father of two children, this
  71-year-old trailblazer and former Marine has been an exemplary
  role model for his community and his family; his hard work and
  community presence will be missed in the banking industry; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby commend Reynaldo L. Lopez on his retirement
  from the banking industry and extend to him sincere best wishes
  for all his future endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Ray Lopez as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
