SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 358
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  join the men and women of the Texas tourism industry and Texans
  across the state in celebrating February 23, 2011, as Texas
  Travel Industry Day at the Capitol; and
 
         WHEREAS, Known throughout the world for its hospitality
  and natural beauty, Texas is a premier travel destination; in
  2009 alone, some $51.8 billion was spent by visitors to the
  state; and
 
         WHEREAS, Tourism supports more than 500,000 jobs in the
  state and plays a significant role in ensuring Texas' continuing
  prosperity; and
 
         WHEREAS, It is truly fitting that a day be set aside to
  acknowledge the importance of the travel and tourism industry to
  our state; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend the men and women of the Texas
  tourism industry for their many contributions to our state's
  well-being and extend to them best wishes for a memorable Texas
  Travel Industry Day at the Capitol; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of this special day.
