SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 339
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Barbara Martinez on the occasion of her retirement as
justice court manager for Precinct 1, Place 3, in Bexar County
after many years of loyal service; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Martinez has served as justice court
manager in Bexar County since 1998; she began her career as a
receptionist and administrative assistant in the San Antonio
General Maintenance department in 1984; she worked in the Bexar
County auditor's office and in November of 1988 she became court
clerk; and
WHEREAS, She is a graduate of Harlandale High School and
attended San Antonio College; an active member of her community,
she is a parent volunteer with Holy Name Catholic School and
served as an assistant coach and team minister; a devout
Christian, she is a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church; and
WHEREAS, Barbara is a talented and resourceful individual,
who has handled her many responsibilities in the office of the
Justice of the Peace with exceptional efficiency and dedication;
and
WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, she has earned the
admiration and respect of her colleagues, and her presence in the
justice court will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby commend Barbara Martinez for her outstanding
service and her many contributions to the citizens of Bexar
County and extend to her best wishes for the future; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
