| Nikolas Coltan Evans | ||
| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and | ||
| commemorates the life of Nikolas Coltan Evans, who died April 5, | ||
| 2009, at the age of 21; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Nikolas Coltan Evans was born February 18, 1988, | ||
| in Arlington; he grew up in Euless and was a graduate of Trinity | ||
| High School, where he was a member of the cross country team; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, An enthusiastic admirer of film and cinema, | ||
| Nikolas moved to Austin in 2006 to attend film school; he was | ||
| passionate about every facet of filmmaking, and his efforts to | ||
| learn the art and craft of this profession reflect his creative | ||
| spirit and his desire to communicate with others in a meaningful | ||
| way; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Nikolas was a warm and loving young man, and even | ||
| though he is no longer among us, he continues to live through the | ||
| lives of the five fortunate persons who benefited from the | ||
| donation of his organs; it is truly fitting that his innate | ||
| generosity be reflected by the gift of life he gave to others | ||
| through organ donation; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A young man of courage, strength, and wisdom | ||
| beyond his years, he gave unselfishly to others, and his | ||
| compassion, his wit, and his enthusiasm for living each day to | ||
| the fullest will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and | ||
| WHEREAS, He was a devoted son, brother, and grandson, and | ||
| he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his | ||
| family and his many friends; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
| Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
| family and friends of Nikolas Coltan Evans; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, | ||
| and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of | ||
| Nikolas Coltan Evans. | ||
