SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 310
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Dr. Farron C. Hunt of Port Arthur, who served as
Physician of the Day at the Capitol on February 6, 2017; and
WHEREAS, During every session of the Texas Legislature, a
volunteer member from the Texas Academy of Family Physicians is
scheduled to be on-call each day that the legislature is in
session, and Dr. Hunt took valuable time away from her practice
to fill this position; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Hunt is a graduate of The University of Texas
Medical Branch at Galveston; she currently practices with Doctor
on Demand and with the Made W.H.O.L.E. Family Clinic, P.A., where
she is president and chief executive officer; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of her career in medicine, Dr. Hunt
has been in high demand as a speaker, a contributing author,
and a medical correspondent; she was named the Physician
Member of the Month, March 2016, by the Texas Academy of
Family Physicians, and she represented the academy at its 2014
Annual Leadership Forum; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary physician and community leader,
Dr. Hunt is truly deserving of special recognition for her
commitment to excellence in her profession and to service to others;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Farron C. Hunt on her many
contributions to her community and to the field of medicine and
extend appreciation to her for her exemplary service as Physician
of the Day at the Capitol; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
