| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| join the Rio Grande Valley delegation and Texans across the state | ||
| in observing February 27, 2013, as Rio Grande Valley Day at the | ||
| Capitol; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This special day celebrates the efforts of the | ||
| citizens of the Rio Grande Valley to work together and to | ||
| collectively promote economic development across the region; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The delegation is composed of representatives | ||
| from Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, and Willacy Counties; these | ||
| dedicated citizens have worked diligently to cultivate progress | ||
| and prosperity, not only across their four counties but also | ||
| throughout the state and across the border in the State of | ||
| Tamaulipas, Mexico, the region's international neighbor; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Rio Grande Valley has played an indispensable | ||
| role in the growth, success, and vitality of our state; the | ||
| cooperation demonstrated by the citizens of these four counties | ||
| benefits the state's businesses and industries, and it is truly | ||
| fitting that this valued region be recognized for its significant | ||
| contributions to our state; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
| Legislature, hereby welcome the delegation from Cameron, | ||
| Hidalgo, Starr, and Willacy Counties to Austin and extend to its | ||
| members best wishes for a productive and successful Rio Grande | ||
| Valley Day at the Capitol; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in | ||
| honor of this special day. | ||
