| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Thompson Brewer McLeod for achieving the rank of | ||
| Eagle Scout; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This exemplary young man is a member of Scouts BSA | ||
| Troop 51 in Jackson, Mississippi; he recently joined the elite | ||
| corps of Eagles and received the coveted Eagle Badge at a Court of | ||
| Honor; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor and only a | ||
| small percentage of participants in the Scouts BSA program attain | ||
| the rank of Eagle Scout; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and | ||
| promise, Thompson advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, | ||
| Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle | ||
| Scout; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Thompson displayed impressive leadership through | ||
| planning, developing, and conducting a service project that | ||
| benefited the Dallas community; for his project, he organized and | ||
| facilitated the "Equal Footing for the Homeless Sock and Shoe | ||
| Drive," which resulted in the collection and donation of more | ||
| than 800 footwear items to local non-profit organizations; he is | ||
| truly a shining example to his fellow Scouts and the young people | ||
| of Texas; and | ||
| WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Thompson has brought | ||
| great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and | ||
| his state; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Thompson McLeod on receiving this | ||
| prestigious honor and congratulate him on his outstanding | ||
| achievement; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| Eagle Scout McLeod as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
