| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize the members of the Dallas Regional Chamber who are | ||
| gathering at the Capitol on March 4, 2015, to celebrate Dallas | ||
| Regional Chamber Day; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Since its incorporation in 1856, Dallas has grown | ||
| to become a leading business center, and by 2012, it was home to | ||
| nine Fortune 500 companies; the city's diverse industries | ||
| include building design and construction, information technology | ||
| services, telecommunications, and world-renowned health care | ||
| systems; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Dallas Regional Chamber has played a key | ||
| leadership role in the establishment of many important regional | ||
| assets, and the prosperity enjoyed by Dallas-area businesses and | ||
| residents today is due in no small part to the success of the | ||
| chamber's efforts over the past 100 years; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Dallas Regional Chamber works collaboratively | ||
| to promote economic development, improve public education, and | ||
| advocate for regional public policies that foster and sustain | ||
| economic prosperity and a strong business climate for the | ||
| region; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Residents of Dallas enjoy an exceptional quality | ||
| of life, with access to thriving cultural arts facilities, unique | ||
| urban green spaces, famed sporting-event locations, premier | ||
| concert arenas, and a number of outdoor recreation options; | ||
| Dallas has been ranked among the best cities for new college | ||
| graduates, and it remains among the most affordable of the | ||
| nation's largest cities; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Dallas Regional Chamber has contributed | ||
| greatly to the growth and prosperity of the Lone Star State, and | ||
| its members can indeed be proud of their many achievements as | ||
| they look to the future; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
| Legislature, hereby join the Dallas delegation in celebrating | ||
| March 4, 2015, as Dallas Regional Chamber Day at the State | ||
| Capitol and extend best wishes to all for a memorable visit to | ||
| Austin; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in | ||
| honor of this special day. | ||
