| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| join the members of Texas Farm Bureau District Four and Texans | ||
| across the state in celebrating Texas Farm Bureau Day at the | ||
| State Capitol; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Texas Farm Bureau was founded in 1933 and is | ||
| one of the largest groups of farmers, ranchers, and rural | ||
| families in the world; it is committed to the principle of | ||
| grassroots policy development, with ideas coming directly from | ||
| members before being proposed and enacted in the legislative | ||
| arena; and | ||
| WHEREAS, District Four encompasses Collin, Cooke, Dallas, | ||
| Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, Hill, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, | ||
| Kaufman, Navarro, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, and Tarrant | ||
| Counties; it contains more than 20,000 farms covering some 3.7 | ||
| million acres and is a leading producer of forage crops and | ||
| cattle; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Texas Farm Bureau has played a critical role | ||
| in representing agricultural interests at the local, state, and | ||
| national levels, and it is truly fitting that a day be set aside | ||
| to acknowledge its members' hard work and dedication; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Texas Farm | ||
| Bureau District Four on their many contributions to the wealth | ||
| and prosperity of our state and extend to them best wishes for | ||
| a memorable Texas Farm Bureau Day at the State Capitol; and, be | ||
| it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| this exemplary organization as an expression of esteem from the | ||
| Texas Senate. | ||
