| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Atanacio "Nacho" Campos, who has been honored with a | ||
| Living Legends of New Braunfels Award by the Braunfels Foundation | ||
| Trust; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Each year, the Braunfels Foundation Trust hosts a | ||
| celebratory luncheon and honors the recipients of the Living | ||
| Legends of New Braunfels Award, which recognizes a select few | ||
| individuals who have dedicated years of outstanding support to | ||
| the people, institutions, and history of New Braunfels; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A native of New Braunfels, Nacho Campos earned his | ||
| law degree from The University of Texas at Austin and began | ||
| operating his legal practice in the capital city; in 1984, he | ||
| returned to his hometown, and he quickly became engaged in | ||
| volunteer activities and adopted a passion for serving the local | ||
| community; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Campos held numerous leadership positions | ||
| throughout 20 years of exemplary service as a member of the New | ||
| Braunfels Utilities Board of Trustees, and during his tenure, the | ||
| utilities company increased its capacity in every area; he is a | ||
| founding member of the Headwaters at the Comal, a nonprofit | ||
| organization that helps to shape a vision for environmental | ||
| stewardship and conservation, and he is the inspiration for the | ||
| Atanacio Campos Volunteer Award, which is bestowed annually to | ||
| honor a volunteer committed to the organization's mission and to | ||
| serving the community; he has further served the New Braunfels | ||
| community through his work on numerous civic committees and | ||
| advisory boards; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Campos has helped the City of New Braunfels to | ||
| flourish through his devoted civic service, and it is indeed | ||
| fitting that he receive special recognition for his invaluable | ||
| contributions to the community; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th | ||
| Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby extend congratulations | ||
| to Nacho Campos on receiving the Living Legends of New Braunfels | ||
| Award; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
