SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 271
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Dr. Charles Smith, who is retiring from the Behavioral
  Health Center of Nueces County after more than 25 years of
  exceptional service with the organization; and
 
         WHEREAS, Charles Smith grew up in New York City and earned
  a bachelor's degree in psychology from Queens College, a master's
  degree in psychology from Rutgers University, and a doctoral
  degree in psychology from the California School of Professional
  Psychology; and
 
         WHEREAS, Dr. Smith's career with the behavioral health
  center began in 1991; over the years, he has worked as a unit
  supervisor, an intake worker, and a utilization manager, and he
  is retiring from his position as the clinical supervisor; and
 
         WHEREAS, An exemplary medical professional, Dr. Smith has
  worked diligently to provide relief to patients who are suffering
  and to help them achieve their goals for personal growth and
  happiness; he is respected and admired by his colleagues, and his
  presence at the health center will be greatly missed; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Charles Smith for his exemplary
  career at the Behavioral Health Center of Nueces County and for
  his outstanding work on behalf of vulnerable citizens and extend
  to him best wishes in all his future endeavors; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
