SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 265
         WHEREAS,
 
 
         WHEREAS, A thriving county in the heart of North Texas,
  Collin County is the seventh most populous in the state; with an
  estimated 74 people moving into the county each day, it is now
  home to over 800,000 residents; and
         WHEREAS, Eight of the 10 fastest-growing cities in North
  Texas are in Collin County; Plano is the county's largest city
  and offers nationally recognized schools and award-winning
  parks; the City of McKinney, the county seat, was recently ranked
  number two on the Best Places to Live in America list published by
  Money magazine; and
         WHEREAS, Collin County's economy remains strong and
  vibrant, and the county's reasonable housing costs and low
  property taxes attract new residents from across the nation; the
  median family income is higher than the national median family
  income by almost $30,000; and
         WHEREAS, Over the years, the county's infrastructure has
  been skillfully managed to meet the area's industrial
  development and population growth, and its vital road and highway
  projects continue to keep pace with its fast growth; and
         WHEREAS, Collin County maintains an excellent public
  education system, and it has a highly educated workforce; the
  county offers attractive scenery and excellent recreational
  opportunities, and its inviting, friendly communities are
  welcoming to individuals, families, and corporations; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby commend the citizens of Collin County on
  their county's many amenities and its rapid growth and extend
  best wishes to them on the occasion of Collin County Days at the
  Capitol; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of this occasion.
