| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| join the members of Texas Farm Bureau District Three and Texans | ||
| across the state in celebrating Texas Farm Bureau Day at the | ||
| State Capitol; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Founded in 1933, the Texas Farm Bureau is one of | ||
| the largest groups of farmers, ranchers, and rural families in | ||
| the world; it is committed to the principle of grassroots policy | ||
| development, with ideas originating at the member level before | ||
| being proposed and enacted in the legislative arena; and | ||
| WHEREAS, District Three encompasses Archer, Baylor, Clay, | ||
| Cottle, Foard, Hardeman, Haskell, Jack, Kent, King, Knox, | ||
| Montague, Stonewall, Throckmorton, Wichita, Wilbarger, Wise, and | ||
| Young Counties; it is home to 11,266 farms covering 8.6 million | ||
| acres and is a leading producer of numerous crops and livestock, | ||
| notably wheat and cattle; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Texas Farm Bureau has played a vital role in | ||
| representing agricultural interests at the local, state, and | ||
| national levels, and it is truly fitting that a day be set aside | ||
| to acknowledge its members' hard work and dedication; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Texas Farm Bureau | ||
| on their many contributions to the wealth and prosperity of our | ||
| state and extend to them best wishes for a memorable Texas Farm | ||
| Bureau Day at the State Capitol; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| this exemplary organization as an expression of esteem from the | ||
| Texas Senate. | ||
