| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize the Edinburg High School Bobcat Cheerleaders, who | ||
| recently won their third consecutive national championship | ||
| title; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Bobcat cheerleaders were among 13,000 | ||
| participants at the 2015 National Cheerleading Association | ||
| competition held in Dallas; the talented athletes were judged on | ||
| technical skills, choreographed cheer, and dance; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In addition to earning the highest score in the | ||
| Small Intermediate Coed High School division, the team came home | ||
| with the Specialty Award for Best Stunts; and | ||
| WHEREAS, These young performers have demonstrated great | ||
| talent and perseverance throughout the school year, and team | ||
| members can indeed take pride in their outstanding performance; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership of Coach Eva | ||
| Guerra-Perez, the Bobcat cheerleaders have developed exceptional | ||
| teamwork and discipline; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Edinburg High School and the City of Edinburg are | ||
| proud of the Bobcats for their determination and their fine | ||
| sportsmanship; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend the Edinburg High School Bobcat | ||
| Cheerleaders on their outstanding achievements and congratulate | ||
| them on winning the 2015 National Cheerleading Association | ||
| championship; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
