| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| welcome the registered nurses and licensed vocational nurses who | ||
| are visiting the State Capitol on February 28, 2017, as part of | ||
| Nurse Day at the Capitol; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The 300,000 registered nurses and 100,000 | ||
| licensed vocational nurses caring for Texans every day in | ||
| hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies and other | ||
| settings are critical to the quality of health care provided in | ||
| our state; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Nurses are consistently rated by the Gallup Poll | ||
| as highest in honesty and ethical standards of all professionals | ||
| each year; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The members of the Texas Nurses Association and | ||
| the Licensed Vocational Nurses Association of Texas and the other | ||
| Texas nursing organizations represented at the Capitol today | ||
| share a mission of advocacy for excellence in care for their | ||
| patients both at the bedside and in the public arena; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Texas nurses deserve our respect, praise, and | ||
| admiration for their commitment to bringing the highest quality | ||
| of care to the citizens of this state and their dedication to | ||
| their work on behalf of their patients; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, hereby proclaim February 28, 2017, Nurse Day at the | ||
| Capitol and commend all nurses for their invaluable service to | ||
| this State; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in | ||
| honor of the nursing profession as an expression of high regard | ||
| from the Texas Senate. | ||
