Doris Rodgers Watson | ||
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the | ||
citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Doris Rodgers | ||
Watson, who died May 4, 2013; and | ||
WHEREAS, Doris Watson was a native of Grapevine and a | ||
longtime resident of Fort Worth; she married Jack Daniel Watson, | ||
Sr., who preceded her in death; she was blessed with two children | ||
and a granddaughter; and | ||
WHEREAS, She had a long and distinguished career with the | ||
General Services Administration division of the United States | ||
government and held positions in both Fort Worth and Washington, | ||
D.C.; she was dedicated to her work designing and setting up | ||
complex telecommunications projects for numerous federal | ||
agencies; and | ||
WHEREAS, After her career had taken her to all parts of the | ||
world, she retired in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she was a | ||
passionate supporter of the Santa Fe Opera; she returned to the | ||
Dallas-Fort Worth area in 2007; and | ||
WHEREAS, She was an exemplary lady who was respected in the | ||
community for her many talents and her exceptional | ||
accomplishments, and her wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will | ||
not be forgotten; and | ||
WHEREAS, Doris Watson was beloved by many, and she leaves | ||
behind memories that will be treasured forever by all who were | ||
privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, | ||
83rd Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere | ||
condolences to the bereaved family of Doris Rodgers Watson; and, | ||
be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
memory of Doris Watson. | ||
