	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 238
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize the state champions from the Ann Richards School for
	Young Women Leaders Youth and Government program; and
	WHEREAS, The Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders is an
	all-girls public school dedicated to preparing young women to attend
	and graduate from college, commit to a healthy and well-balanced
	lifestyle, lead with courage and compassion, and solve problems
	creatively and ethically in support of the global community; and
	WHEREAS, The Youth and Government program teaches students
	the mechanics of the legislative and judicial processes of state
	government and provides them with the opportunity to study public
	issues, participate in the judicial process, serve as the media
	by creating a news broadcast, and write, present, debate, and
	amend legislation; through the years, the program's students
	have competed in numerous regional and state competitions; and
	WHEREAS, This year, the school produced state champions in two
	categories of the Judicial Section; Josie MacLean, Libertad Escobar,
	Oceane Maher, Sadie Brown, Anjali Mani, and Chloe Coronado Winn won
	the Mock Trial competition, and Libertad Escobar was named Top
	Defense Attorney; and
	WHEREAS, These young women have brought great honor to
	their school and families, and it is truly fitting that they
	receive special recognition for their hard work and their
	outstanding achievements; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
	Legislature, hereby commend the state champions from the Ann
	Richards School for Young Women Leaders Youth and Government
	program and extend to them best wishes for continued success in
	all their endeavors; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
