| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Jeannette Marie Rivera, who is retiring on February 28, | ||
| 2015, from the Office of the Attorney General after more than 30 | ||
| years in public service; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Jenny Rivera began her career in public service as | ||
| an employee in the Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector's | ||
| Office, where she served for 10 years; she joined the Office of | ||
| the Attorney General in 1993; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Over the course of her career in state service, | ||
| she has been noted for her superior skills and dedication; she | ||
| began her career in the attorney general's office as an employee | ||
| in the mail room and worked her way through the ranks to earn the | ||
| position of Program Specialist V; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, she has handled her | ||
| many responsibilities with remarkable efficiency; she has also | ||
| been an active volunteer in several civic and philanthropic | ||
| organizations, including the Seedling Foundation, the Brownsville | ||
| Jaycees, and Big Brothers Big Sisters; and | ||
| WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, she is respected and | ||
| admired by her colleagues, and her presence in the Office of the | ||
| Attorney General will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Jeannette Marie Rivera on her | ||
| exceptional service to the people of Texas as an employee of the | ||
| Office of the Attorney General and extend to her best wishes for | ||
| continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
