| Romeo Ramirez Esparza | ||
| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and | ||
| commemorates the life of Romeo Ramirez Esparza, who died July 23, | ||
| 2009, at the age of 82; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A native of El Ranchito, Romeo Esparza was an | ||
| exemplary citizen who was admired in his community for his many | ||
| achievements; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Esparza learned the value of hard work at an | ||
| early age by working on his family's farm; he served the country | ||
| with honor as a paratrooper in the United States Army during the | ||
| Korean War; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Esparza worked for a cargo freight company for | ||
| many years in addition to working with his partners to establish | ||
| an exclusive winter okra supply in Mexico; although he was | ||
| blessed with an impressive work ethic, he was happiest when | ||
| surrounded by friends and family around the barbecue pit at his | ||
| home away from home, a hunting camp named Esparza Ranch in | ||
| Falfurrias; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A man of strength, patriotism, and compassion, he | ||
| gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and | ||
| enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be | ||
| forgotten by those who knew him; and | ||
| WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and | ||
| grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured | ||
| forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
| Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family and | ||
| friends of Romeo Ramirez Esparza; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, | ||
| and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of | ||
| Romeo Ramirez Esparza. | ||
