SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 23
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Arthur Jeffers
 
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with
  the passing of Arthur David Jeffers of Lavon on May 17, 2021, at
  the age of 67; and
         WHEREAS, A fourth-generation Texan, David Jeffers was born
  in Corsicana on September 1, 1953, to Joe and Marjetta Cody, and
  he grew up with the companionship of a brother, Freddie; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Jeffers married the former Dixie Vinson on
  August 6, 1976, and the couple shared a loving union that spanned
  nearly four and a half decades; he was the caring father of two
  daughters, Alicia and Natalie, and over the years, he had the
  pleasure of welcoming into his family four grandchildren,
  Travis, Trevor, Addyson, and Preston; and
         WHEREAS, In his leisure hours, Mr. Jeffers enjoyed
  fishing, swimming, scuba diving, and playing ice hockey, and he
  was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys; moreover, he loved going on
  cruises to the Caribbean with his wife; and
         WHEREAS, Although David Jeffers is deeply missed, memories
  of his strength of character, his passion for life, and his
  devotion to his loved ones will remain to comfort and inspire
  those he leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Arthur David Jeffers and extend heartfelt sympathy to the
  members of his family:  to his wife, Dixie Jeffers; to his
  daughters, Alicia Young and her husband, Matthew, and Natalie
  Morgan and her husband, Todd; to his grandchildren, Travis Young,
  Trevor Young, Addyson Morgan, and Preston Morgan; and to his
  other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
  this day, it do so in memory of David Jeffers.
