SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 23
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Dolly Marlene Lucio on the auspicious occasion of her
  graduation from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical
  School; and
         WHEREAS, An exceptionally talented and accomplished young
  lady, Dolly Lucio graduated fourth in her class at Hanna High
  School in 2004; she graduated with honors after three years of
  attendance at The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned
  a bachelor of science degree in psychology; while in college, she
  participated in numerous outside activities, including
  volunteering to read and record text books to help blind and
  dyslexic schoolchildren; and
         WHEREAS, She entered The University of Texas Southwestern
  Medical School in 2007 with a scholarship that was renewable for
  four years; during her time in medical school, she took an active
  role in a number of programs and activities in addition to her
  studies; and
         WHEREAS, She served as a Spanish interpreter for the Monday
  Clinic and was part of a mentoring program for other students;
  she worked for a month with the medical director of Medicaid in
  Austin, and she visited India to learn about the treatment of
  illnesses in that country; and
         WHEREAS, Dolly has faced the many challenges of higher
  education and medical school with success and distinction, and
  she is well prepared for a future that holds countless
  opportunities for her; Dolly is beginning her residency in
  pediatrics this month at Children's Medical Center in Dallas, and
  she is engaged to be married to Graham Sevier-Schultz on June 16,
  2012; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Dolly Marlene Lucio on her
  outstanding accomplishments and extend to her congratulations on
  her graduation from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical
  School; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in her
  honor.
