| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize the La Vernia Greenhand FFA Quiz team, which recently | ||
| won first place at the FFA State Leadership Development Events | ||
| competition in Huntsville; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The State Leadership Development Events | ||
| competition is a statewide FFA tournament of 13 events in which | ||
| participants demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, | ||
| decision-making, communication, and knowledge of agriculture and | ||
| the FFA organization; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The La Vernia Greenhand FFA Quiz team placed first | ||
| in district and area quiz competitions before winning first place | ||
| overall as a team at the state competition; three individual team | ||
| members ranked in the top ten at the event; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Team members Grey Geisel, Annie Dirks, Corley | ||
| Carpenter, and Cheyenne Zigmond have demonstrated great talent | ||
| and perseverance throughout the school year, and they can take | ||
| pride in their outstanding performance; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Under the superior guidance of agriculture | ||
| instructor Jennifer Kotzur, the La Vernia Greenhand FFA Quiz team | ||
| has developed exceptional discipline and subject knowledge; the | ||
| school and the community are proud of team members for their hard | ||
| work and their impressive skills; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend the members of the La Vernia | ||
| Greenhand FFA Quiz team and congratulate them on their success at | ||
| the FFA State Leadership Development Events competition; and, be | ||
| it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
