SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 210
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the "No Excuses!" BBQ Challenge and Music Festival as a
Texas State Barbecue Championship competition; and
WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Community Enrichment
Organization, the annual "No Excuses!" BBQ Challenge and Music
Festival will be held in the beautiful city of Corpus Christi,
Texas, on the last full weekend of March; and
WHEREAS, The "No Excuses!" BBQ Challenge and Music Festival
began in 2008, and it includes a business mixer, an arts and craft
show, a car show, a children's activities corner, a Tejano music
night, a Texas Country music night, a hot wing contest, a horseshoe
contest, and a barbecue cook-off that is sanctioned by the
International Barbeque Cookers Association; and
WHEREAS, The "No Excuses!" BBQ Challenge and Music
Festival has attracted and is expected to attract approximately
10,000 visitors annually from all over Texas; and
WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue and
music festivals, and the "No Excuses!" cookers have provided
superior cuisine, satisfying the most discriminating of palates;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the Community Enrichment
Organization's annual "No Excuses!" BBQ Challenge and Music
Festival and extend best wishes to all associated with the event;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
honor of the "No Excuses!" BBQ Challenge and Music Festival.
