| Nancy J. Berkman | ||
| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the | ||
| citizens of Houston in mourning the loss of Nancy J. Berkman, who | ||
| died January 9, 2011, at the age of 60; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Nancy J. Berkman was born in Houston on October | ||
| 17, 1950, to Bryant and Marjorie Joyce Biles; she was an | ||
| exemplary citizen who was admired and respected in her community | ||
| for her many accomplishments; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Berkman was a member of Congregation Beth | ||
| Israel in Houston, where she lived most of her life; a woman of | ||
| courage, strength, and compassion, she had a profound effect on | ||
| all those who shared in her life; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Throughout her life, she gave unselfishly to | ||
| others, and her wisdom and gracious spirit will not be forgotten | ||
| by those who knew her; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Nancy Berkman was a devoted wife, mother, sister, | ||
| and grandmother, and her family and many friends will continue to | ||
| live with the cherished memories of her life and her many | ||
| achievements; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
| Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
| family of Nancy J. Berkman: her devoted husband of 23 years, | ||
| Larry H. Berkman; her mother, Marjorie Biles; her daughters and | ||
| sons-in-law, Cindy Berkman, Jamie and Sean McLain, Lauri | ||
| Berkman, Shelby and Scott Papp, and Becky and Ted Heidorf; her | ||
| sisters, Linda Craft and Marilyn Terrell; and her six | ||
| grandchildren; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
| Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
| memory of Nancy J. Berkman. | ||
