| WHEREAS, Rowlett is located on the shore of Lake Ray | ||
| Hubbard in Dallas and Rockwall Counties and is named for Daniel | ||
| Rowlett, who led a group of families from Tennessee to the North | ||
| Texas area in 1835; under the direction of two immigration | ||
| companies, the W. S. Peters Colony and the Charles Mercer Colony, | ||
| WHEREAS, | ||

| WHEREAS, | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
| Legislature, hereby welcome the delegation from Rowlett to | ||
| Austin and extend to them best wishes for a memorable Rowlett Day | ||
| at the State Capitol; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| the city as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
