	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 19
	WHEREAS, When they married many years ago, Lou and Jim
	"Corky" Dawson placed great faith and trust in one another, and
	they have been amply rewarded, as they are celebrating their 50th
	wedding anniversary; and

	WHEREAS, Lou and Corky Dawson were married on January 21,
	1967, after a whirlwind romance and short engagement; they had
	met one another on a blind date in the fall of 1966 at West Texas
	State University; and

	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Dawson enjoyed productive careers in
	education, he as a coach and she as a teacher, before launching a
	successful Shaklee business; they went on to establish a thriving
	State Farm Insurance agency in Canyon that set numerous sales
	records and received multiple awards; they retired and moved to
	Granbury in 2003; and

	WHEREAS, They have been blessed with a wonderful family;
	their sons, Jimmy Don, John David, and Joe De, and their seven
	grandchildren have been a source of much pride and joy; and

	WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their
	love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and
	sorrows of everyday living; the long and happy union of Lou and
	Corky Dawson is truly an inspiration to others; now, therefore,
	be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
	Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Lou and Jim Dawson
	on their 50th wedding anniversary; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	this distinguished couple as an expression of esteem from the
	Texas Senate.
