	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 188
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church on the occasion of
	its 100th anniversary; and

	WHEREAS, Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church was organized on
	September 18, 1915, under the leadership of the Reverend C. H. Marks;
	through the years, the church has ministered to the temporal and
	spiritual needs of countless area citizens; and

	WHEREAS, Under the wise guidance and stewardship of its
	pastors and the outstanding leadership of its current pastor,
	Dr. Stanley T. Hillard, the church has continued to grow and to
	play a vital role in the life of the Kashmere Gardens community; and

	WHEREAS, Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church has become
	an invaluable source of strength for church members in times of
	hardship and bereavement and a place of joyous fellowship in
	times of prosperity and celebration; and

	WHEREAS, The church's 100th anniversary is an opportunity
	for all to reflect on its invaluable contributions to the
	congregation and the community; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
	Legislature, hereby extend to the members and clergy of Saint
	Luke Missionary Baptist Church best wishes on the occasion of its
	100th anniversary; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
	honor of Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church.
