SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 185
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Pastor A. L. Banks, who is being honored for 30 years of
leadership at Community Missionary Baptist Church at an
anniversary banquet on March 7, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Banks has served as a spiritual leader for
more than 39 years; he was called to lead the Community Missionary
Baptist Church in November of 1985, and since that time, the
congregation has grown from 35 to more than 250 members; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, Pastor Banks has ministered
faithfully to innumerable Christians and has provided enlightenment,
hope, and support to those in need; and
WHEREAS, Under his outstanding leadership, the church has
organized a variety of ministries to the benefit of the
congregation and the community; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Banks is a respected and admired spiritual
leader who dedicates his time to several organizations,
including the National Baptist Convention of America and the
Baptist Ministers Union; in 2010, he was honored as the Minister
of the Year and was inducted into the Elite News Religious Hall of
Fame; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend Pastor A. L. Banks on his years of
pastoral guidance at Community Missionary Baptist Church and
extend to him best wishes for a joyous 30th anniversary banquet;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
