	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 18
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize Cornelius Elementary School of the Houston Independent
	School District on its recent selection as a 2010 Blue Ribbon
	School by the United States Department of Education; and

	WHEREAS, This outstanding accomplishment reflects the
	superior leadership of the school's administration and the
	talent and dedication of its faculty; and

	WHEREAS, The award also demonstrates a remarkable and
	united effort by the teachers and the parents in the community
	who devoted many hours to preparing the school's application; and

	WHEREAS, Today, Cornelius Elementary School is widely
	recognized as a first-rate institution with a sound academic
	curriculum and well-disciplined students who are high achievers;
	and

	WHEREAS, The school has consistently aimed at providing
	resources, programs, and experiences that would inspire
	excellence in student performance, and the students are proud of
	the fine education they receive; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
	Legislature, hereby commend Cornelius Elementary School for its
	success and extend congratulations to all associated with the
	school for its selection as a 2010 Blue Ribbon winner; and, be it
	further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	the school as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
