WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
recognize the Round Rock Independent School District on the grand | ||
occasion of its 100th anniversary, which is being celebrated | ||
throughout 2013; and | ||
WHEREAS, The Round Rock Independent School District was | ||
established on May 17, 1913; the first education classes were | ||
offered in 1914 and took place in a three-story building on West | ||
Anderson Avenue; and | ||
WHEREAS, Over the decades, numerous rural schools were | ||
consolidated into the district; today, the district consists of | ||
six high schools, 10 middle schools, 32 elementary schools, and | ||
three special centers; there are 5,990 staff members and 45,741 | ||
students; and | ||
WHEREAS, The 51 schools in the Round Rock Independent | ||
School District are widely recognized as first-rate institutions | ||
with sound academic curriculums and well-disciplined, | ||
high-achieving students; and | ||
WHEREAS, The district has consistently aimed to provide | ||
resources, programs, and experiences that inspire excellence in | ||
student performance, and the students have been proud of the fine | ||
education they have received; and | ||
WHEREAS, Observance of the district's 100th anniversary is | ||
an opportunity for all who have attended its schools to express | ||
gratitude for the high standards the district upholds and the | ||
excellent educational opportunities it provides; now, therefore, | ||
be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, | ||
83rd Legislature, hereby commend the Round Rock Independent | ||
School District on its success and its many contributions to the | ||
Round Rock community and our state and extend best wishes to all | ||
associated with the school on its centennial year; and, be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
the district as an expression of high regard from the Texas | ||
Senate. | ||
