| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Bobby Littlefield, who is retiring as the Waco District | ||
| engineer after 33 years of outstanding service with the Texas | ||
| Department of Transportation; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Bobby Littlefield has served the state with | ||
| distinction over the course of his career, and he has been | ||
| especially effective during his 13 years as a district engineer; and | ||
| WHEREAS, During his tenure as the Paris District engineer, | ||
| he oversaw the replacement of the historic United States Highway | ||
| 69 and United States Highway 75 bridges at the Red River, and he | ||
| led the expansions of several major traffic arteries; as Waco | ||
| District engineer, he directed the $2 billion reconstruction and | ||
| upgrade of Interstate 35 through Central Texas and of United | ||
| States Highway 190 in Bell and Coryell Counties; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In 2003, he received the department's DeWitt | ||
| C. Greer Award for excellence in the engineering field, and he | ||
| has served on the policy boards of the Sherman-Denison | ||
| Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Waco Metropolitan | ||
| Planning Organization, and the Killeen-Temple Metropolitan | ||
| Planning Organization; and | ||
| WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and | ||
| admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the Texas | ||
| Department of Transportation will be greatly missed; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Bobby Littlefield on his exceptional | ||
| service to the people of Texas as an employee of the Texas | ||
| Department of Transportation and extend to him best wishes for | ||
| continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. | ||
