WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
recognize Dave Erickson, who is retiring as director of the | ||
Angelo State University Small Business Development Center after | ||
24 years of outstanding service with the organization; and | ||
WHEREAS, Dave Erickson joined the Angelo State University | ||
Small Business Development Center as a business advisor in 1999 | ||
after having previously served in business management and | ||
development positions throughout the preceding decades; and | ||
WHEREAS, Dave's expertise and strong management skills led | ||
him to be named the director of the Angelo State University Small | ||
Business Development Center in 2005; throughout his tenure, he | ||
has been dedicated to guiding the center in its operations, which | ||
include providing business advising, workshops, and training | ||
services to thousands of small business owners and novice | ||
entrepreneurs in the 10-county area of the Concho Valley; and | ||
WHEREAS, An accomplished leader in business management, | ||
Dave has been an instrumental force in promoting economic | ||
development in San Angelo, and he has been an invaluable asset on | ||
the Angelo State University campus; the responsibilities of his | ||
role have ranged from hosting training seminars to delivering | ||
university lectures, and he has shared his extensive knowledge | ||
and experience in business management to benefit others and to | ||
improve his community; and | ||
WHEREAS, Dependable and innovative in the face of | ||
challenge and uncertainty, Dave took preemptive action against | ||
the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in the business community by | ||
creating the San Angelo Area COVID-19 Task Force; this effort | ||
allowed the center to provide critical information and guidance | ||
to small businesses through a virtual hub, which helped to ensure | ||
their survival in a challenging economic climate when many | ||
businesses closed; and | ||
WHEREAS, Respected and admired by his colleagues for his | ||
excellent leadership, uncompromising work ethic, and strength of | ||
character, Dave has served as a trusted mentor and advisor to | ||
numerous individuals throughout his career, and he has played an | ||
integral role in helping countless Texans and Texas businesses to | ||
succeed and thrive; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th | ||
Legislature, hereby commend Dave Erickson on his invaluable | ||
contributions to Texas citizens as director of the Angelo State | ||
University Small Business Development Center and extend to him | ||
congratulations on his retirement and best wishes for the future; | ||
and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
