| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize the Harmony School of Nature and Athletics in Dallas on | ||
| the occasion of its official opening and science fair; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Harmony School of Nature and Athletics in | ||
| Dallas is a component of the Harmony Public School System, a | ||
| statewide system of tuition-free college preparatory schools; | ||
| many of the schools in the system have earned the Texas Education | ||
| Agency's highest academic ratings; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Harmony School System's mission is to prepare | ||
| students for higher learning in a safe, caring, and collaborative | ||
| atmosphere with a strong emphasis on mathematics, science, | ||
| engineering, and technology; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Harmony schools provide a standards-based core | ||
| curriculum which is designed to stimulate intellectual curiosity | ||
| and to develop the critical thinking skills needed to succeed in | ||
| today's complex world; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Harmony Science Fairs are large, highly | ||
| competitive events that offer a valuable means of applying the | ||
| scientific method while providing an important and enjoyable | ||
| learning experience; it is truly fitting that a science fair | ||
| accompany the official opening of this exemplary educational | ||
| institution; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend the Harmony Public Schools on their | ||
| commitment to excellence in education and extend best wishes for | ||
| a memorable official opening and science fair of the Harmony | ||
| School of Nature and Athletics in Dallas; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in | ||
| honor of this special occasion. | ||
