SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 16
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Harmony School of Nature and Athletics in Dallas on
  the occasion of its official opening and science fair; and
         WHEREAS, The Harmony School of Nature and Athletics in
  Dallas is a component of the Harmony Public School System, a
  statewide system of tuition-free college preparatory schools;
  many of the schools in the system have earned the Texas Education
  Agency's highest academic ratings; and
         WHEREAS, The Harmony School System's mission is to prepare
  students for higher learning in a safe, caring, and collaborative
  atmosphere with a strong emphasis on mathematics, science,
  engineering, and technology; and
         WHEREAS, Harmony schools provide a standards-based core
  curriculum which is designed to stimulate intellectual curiosity
  and to develop the critical thinking skills needed to succeed in
  today's complex world; and
         WHEREAS, Harmony Science Fairs are large, highly
  competitive events that offer a valuable means of applying the
  scientific method while providing an important and enjoyable
  learning experience; it is truly fitting that a science fair
  accompany the official opening of this exemplary educational
  institution; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend the Harmony Public Schools on their
  commitment to excellence in education and extend best wishes for
  a memorable official opening and science fair of the Harmony
  School of Nature and Athletics in Dallas; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of this special occasion.
