	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 15

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize Homero Hernandez for achieving the rank of
	Eagle Scout; and

	WHEREAS, This fine young man is a member of Boy Scout Troop
	84; as he joins the elite corps of Eagles, he will receive the
	coveted Eagle Badge at a Court of Honor; and

	WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor; only a
	small percentage of boys in the Boy Scout program attain the rank
	of Eagle Scout; and

	WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and
	promise, Homero advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second,
	First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle Scout; and

	WHEREAS, This personable young man displayed leadership
	through planning, developing, and conducting a service project
	that benefited his community; he oversaw the removal of invasive
	plants at the McAllen Nature Center and guided the planting of
	native trees and shrubs; he is truly a shining example to his
	fellow Scouts and the young people of Texas; and

	WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Homero has brought
	great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and
	his state; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
	Legislature, hereby commend Homero Hernandez on receiving this
	prestigious honor and congratulate him on his outstanding
	achievement; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Eagle
	Scout Hernandez as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
