| Dorothy Fox | ||
| WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their | ||
| memories of Dorothy R. Fox, who passed away on October 29, 2024, | ||
| at the age of 99; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Born in Eastland County on May 5, 1925, to Thomas | ||
| Morrell and Zora Eppler Terry, the former Dorothy Terry grew up | ||
| with the companionship of three siblings, Wanda, Billy, and | ||
| Tommy; after graduating from Cisco High School, she enrolled | ||
| at Cisco Junior College, and she went on to work for Western | ||
| Union and Montgomery Ward; and | ||
| WHEREAS, On November 21, 1942, she exchanged wedding | ||
| vows with George Alexander Fox Jr., and she moved with her | ||
| family to Austin in the early 1950s; Mrs. Fox and her husband | ||
| shared in the joy of raising two daughters, Carolyn and Pam, | ||
| and the family relocated from Austin to her hometown of Cisco | ||
| in 1961 and then to Abilene in 1964; her family eventually | ||
| grew to include 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and | ||
| 6 great-great-grandchildren, and she spent her later years | ||
| living with her daughters in Fairfield and Cisco; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A woman of devout faith, Mrs. Fox was a member of | ||
| several churches over the course of her life, and she and her | ||
| family even helped to start a congregation when they were | ||
| residing in Austin; she possessed a gift for music and the | ||
| ability to play the piano by ear, and she found additional | ||
| outlets for her creativity in sewing and painting; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dorothy Fox lived a full and generous life | ||
| surrounded by those she loved, and they will forever carry her | ||
| close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th | ||
| Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dorothy R. Fox | ||
| and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her | ||
| daughters, Carolyn Robertson and her husband, Danny, and Pam | ||
| Krabill and her husband, Jim; to her grandchildren, Rhonda | ||
| Ponder, Dana Brown, Brad, Shaun, and Chris Krabill, Debbie | ||
| Bartlett, D'Anne Stephenson, and Jay Robertson; to her | ||
| great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; to her | ||
| brother, Tommy Terry; to her nieces and nephews; and to her other | ||
| relatives and friends; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be | ||
| prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns | ||
| this day, it do so in memory of Dorothy Fox. | ||
